Background: Approx 40 years as a hobbyist, some pieces sold.  Mostly build traditional and studio furniture using native hardwoods I have logged and milled.  I use both power and hand tools where they work best.  Enjoy making unique pieces such as revolver roll top desk, chinese bed, sleigh bed, etc.  Favorite aspect- design of pieces, Least favorite- sanding and finishing.

 

Shop summary: Well equipped basement shop.  12" planer, 8" jointer, table saw, radial arm saw, chop saw, band saw, drill press, lathe, router table

 

Areas of interest: All areas of beginner or intermediate furniture making, design, material selection, layout, construction, joinery, hand & power tool use, finishing, logging and lumber making, traditional furniture, studio furniture, chinese furniture

 

My woodworking experience is limited to rough carpentry.  Jim helped me find plans, build and finish this jewelry box.
